Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Childcare Committee (DLR CCC) is one of 33 County Childcare Committees established throughout the country by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform under its Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme (EOCP). The EOCP was developed to address the huge demand for quality childcare that emerged in the mid 1990's

The key task of DLR CCC is to develop and implement a co-ordinated strategy for the provision of quality childcare in the county.

The National Childcare Investment Programme 2006 - 2010 (NCIP) succeeds the EOCP. The NCIP is administered by the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs under the Department of Health and Children. It aims to provide a proactive response to the development of quality childcare supports and services which will be planned for and developed locally and centred on the needs of the child and the family.

DLR CCC have prepared a Strategic Plan for 2007 - 2010.
